Five members of a family were killed and one was seriously injured after a container truck rammed into their car near Ranjangaon MIDC on the Pune-Ahmednagar highway in Pune district on Tuesday night.
SP Abhinav Deshmukh was quoted by news agency ANI as saying, “Accident occurred after a car collided with a container coming from the wrong side.”
Container driver is absconding, Deshmukh said, adding that a search is on to arrest him.
Further investigations are on.
